We, family members of Camilo Catrillanca, declare the following:
Kiñe: One year after the assassination of our grandson, son and partner, Camilo Catrillanca, committed by agents of the terrorist Chilean State, we reiterate the revindication of Camilo as a weichafe of Mapuche resistance of the community of Temucuicui.
Epu: For us, there is no doubt regarding the responsibility of the former interior minister, Andres Chadwich, and the current President, Sebastián Piñera. Their actions in recent weeks resulting in hundreds of injured youth, many of them mutilated for life, only confirm that we are in the presence of people that do not have any respect for human rights nor a minimum sense of humanity. From day one, we have affirmed that those criminals also are responsible for the death of our weichafe.
Küla: We are grateful for the solidarity shown by thousands of men and women, in each act and protest, in their most diverse forms of expression, throughout Mapuche territory, Chile, and the world. This solidarity gives us the necessary force to try to overcome the pain of our loss and to continue in the legitimate struggle for the liberation of our people.
Meli: We invite all of the peñi and lamien to participate with us in the ceremony that will take place in our community of Temucuicui on November 14 and 15. Likewise, we call on the different Lof and communities in resistance, as well as the mobilized Chilean people, to remember Camilo in the ways you see fit, because his brutal assassination was committed by the same people that continue to water this geography with the blood of the youth. We are convinced that our weichafe would be proud with this awakening of the Chilean people and would be struggling on the front lines in this heroic uprising for dignity.
