To the People of Mexico and the World

To the Media

To the Support Networks of the CIG

To the National and International Sixth

In agreement at the second national assembly of the National Indigenous Congress and the Indigenous Governing Council, we raise the voice of the Indigenous peoples that have organized in CIDECI-UNITIERRA, in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. We demand justice for the Indigenous Nahua community of San Pedro Tlanixco, municipality of Tenango del Valle, State of Mexico, and the community of Loma de Bácum, of the Yaqui tribe, in the state of Sonora

Our brothers and sister of the Nahua community of San Pedro Tlanixco, Tenango de Valle, State of Mexico, are currently kidnapped by the bad government. The bad government only seeks to silence the voice of those that defend their territory and imprison them for their commitment to the struggle for life and water. Our compañerxs have been condemned to 50 years of unjust confinement.

In the same way, the bad government maintains kidnapped our compañero Fidencio Aldama Pérez of the community of Loma de Bácum, of the Yaqui tribe, in the state of Sonora. He too has been imprisoned by the bad government for defending the territory of his community against the aggression of a violent group seeking to impose a gas pipeline on the traditional territory of the Yaqui tribe.

In this moment, we call on the people of Mexico and the world, the support networks of the CIG, to the National and International Sixth, and the solidarity media, to undertake a national and international unity campaign for the freedom of Dominga González Martínez, Pedro Sánchez Berriozábal, Rómulo Arias Míreles, Teófilo Pérez González, Lorenzo Sánchez Berriozábal and Marco Antonio Pérez González of the community of San Pedro Tlanixco, and of compañero Fidencio Aldama Pérez of the community of Loma de Bácum.

We will not take a single moment in stopping our demand for what is just, because community life is also the life of water, and the life of each one of the compañeros and our compañera who are deprived of their freedom.

Sincerely,

October 14th, 2018
