Public Denouncement
San Isidro Los Laureles. Municipality of Venustiano Carranza, Chiapas. Members of Semilla Digna and the National Indigenous Congress (CNI), adherents of the Sixth Declaration of the Lancandon Jungle of the EZLN.
We want to inform the public that yesterday, April 8, 2016, at approximately 12:00 pm, a blue helicopter flew over the land that we recovered December 20, 2015. For approximately ten minutes the helicopter was flying above the territory at an approximate height of 80 meters.
Later, between 2:00 and 3:00 pm, a red, Chevy double cab truck passed between the two recovered properties, and between the two guards. They fired seven shots directed toward the trees in order to intimidate us.
We ask the public, the Human Rights organizations, the CNI, the alternative media, and the Councils of Good Government to be in solidarity with our struggle from where they live and work, for the well being of our families.
We will keep you informed of when and how further attacks are carried out against our rights and us. Because our decision is and will be to resist and defend what legitimately belongs to us.
In advance, we claim the State to be responsible for whatever happens to us.
