Campaign of Solidarity With Radio Zapata 94.1 FM

Radio Zapata 94.1 FM is a community radio that was born in the ejido of Buena Vista, municipality of San Luis Acatlán, in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. Radio Zapata is the result of a year of reflection amongst the assemblies of 22 indigenous communities. We initiated transmissions on November 15, 2014, and had our public inauguration on April 10, 2015.

This past June of 2015, the tropical storm Carlos, that evolved into a category 1 hurricane, destroyed most of the equipment and facilities of Radio Zapata, in addition to the roof of the community house of health.

With this solidarity campaign, we want to rehabilitate Radio Zapata. With your help, the Na’Savi and Me phaa people of the mountains of Guerrero will continue saving and sharing their memory, knowledge, and traditions. They will continue as people, organizing and resisting, as fertilizer for the earth where they will sow the new generations.

We invite you to be part of this dream that was born from the heart, growing with the work and becoming a dignified struggle of the people that walk for autonomy and defense of their territories.
