To our glorious Mapuche Nation and to the society in general:
The Autonomous Mapuche Movement of PuelMapu condemns the constant judicial harassment of the people of the community of Campo Maripe, in Anielo, in the province of Neuquén, territory Mapuche. Specifically the situation of six members of this community, together with Lonko Albino Campo, who have a pending arrest warrant for not attending a hearing presenting charges regarding a conflict with the mega oil field “vaca muerte”. They are accused of “taking a private road” that leads to the “loma campana” in the heart of “vaca muerte”. We consider this to be a historic struggle maintained by various communities in the province of Neuquén against the advancement of the oil project.
In addition, we stand in solidarity with Ionko Weichafe Facundo Jones Huala, Mapuche political prisoner, kidnapped in unit 14 of Esquel, and to the brothers that are being criminalized for this dignified and legitimate struggle, and especially Lonko Campo.
Likewise, we send our fraternal greetings and our support to the brothers of Lof Wenctru Trawel Leufu de Picun Leufu for their example of dignity.
As members of the Mapuche Nation and the Autonomous Mapuche Movement of PuelMapu, we hold the firm conviction that it is our duty to defend the territory in which we develop and to reconstruct our philosophical, spiritual and ancestral culture. We endorse the actions of resistance groups of the rural communities and zones to defend our interests and occupations, both to end with large landowning as well as to drive out polluting companies (mines, oil, etc.) in order to defend ourselves by all means possible (Point 5 of the political proposal M.A.P.) Although we have marked and diverse political and methodological differences with some members of organizations like the Mapuche Confederation Neuquina, we are always open to serious dialogue with our brothers; recognizing our authorities like Lonkos, Pillan Cuche, Werken, etc.
In this time where the Mapuche People are victim of a grand media campaign promoted by the state political power and made effective by the hegemonic media, where it has been attempted to construct the idea that the Mapuche People are terrorist/ violent/ separatist, we assume the commitment to strengthen our identity from the Nor Mongen, to live correctly, according to our Az Mapu. We are conscious that the infiltrators and spies existed before we defended ourselves. Some pacifists and other pseudo rebels, yanaconas, that are not satisfied to work for the winka and salamerearlo, end up giving their own blood. They are hidden in the masses, to be captured in the traps of the reformist and pacifist negotiators those who are the face of the forces and symbols of domination. Anyone who claims to be conscious and does not prepare nor help his or her people confront the violence of power ends up being a useful idiot for the system. Because the bourgeoisie never has conceded its privileges, but employed the state and para-state force of repression to confront and detain the advance of whatever oppressed people. What is expressed in mask for security and in stone for dignity.
We continue calling for the uprising of our people, for the resistance and expulsion of the mega extractivist/ capitalist projects. We urge you all to continue with processes of territorial recuperation to arrive to the liberation of our Mapuche Nation that preexisted the Argentinean and Chilean states.
